Distance Access to Print Resources

Distance Access to Print Resources

If you cannot get access to a print resource (a book, chapter, or article) within 50 miles of your residence, the CST library will attempt to provide access to it digitally or through mail.

If it is a resource NEITHER owned by CST NOR by a reciprocal library within 50 miles of your address, place an InterLibrary loan request through the CST/Worldcat Discovery catalog. Just look up the item record in the catalog, log in, and then click on the blue "Request through InterLibrary loan" button.

If it is a resource owned by CST but NOT by a reciprocal library within 50 miles of your address, email reference@cst.libanswers.com with your distance book mailing request. In your email request, include the following information:

  • a screenshot or pdf of the catalog record for the item in the CST/Worldcat Discovery catalog, including the holdings of the first few listings in the "Libraries Worldwide" dropdown
  • your address
  • complete bibliographic information, including ISBN or ISSN

Please allow about 7-10 business days for delivery.

Note that while the CST library covers the cost of shipment, students are required to cover the cost of return shipping and are responsible if the items are lost or damaged.
