Claremont School of Theology is a richly diverse gathering of teachers and learners. The School is a “community of communities,” composed of many groups with a diversity of identities. The Claremont community reflects the diversity of Southern California and of today’s world. Yet in the midst of diversity, the students, faculty, and staff of Claremont discover common bonds and share the joys and struggles of learning and growing. Students, faculty, and staff care for one another while sharing experiences of worship, intellectual challenge, and social involvement. Community life is nurtured through classroom discussions, common meals, and informal conversations.
In order for us to live out our ethics, values and ethos, “We commit ourselves to think deeply, act ethically, embrace diversity, work for justice and peace, and care for the earth, its people, and its resources so that all life may flourish.” Members of the Office of Student Life are findings ways to integrate these ethics, values and ethos in the extra and co curricular activities to build community.
